zu dem KalenderAt the special request of a colleague, we are giving audiences the rare opportunity to see Sylvester Stallone, who recently celebrated his 80th birthday, at Arsenal: we’re screening the action thriller CLIFFHANGER in a rare 70-mm first-run print with 6-channel sound. Considered the best member of the mountain rescue team in the Rocky Mountains, Gabe Walker (Sylvester Stallone, who in real life suffers from a severe fear of heights) no longer wants to work as a mountain rescuer following a fatal accident involving a friend’s climbing harness snapping. When a plane crashes in Walker’s former territory, he finally agrees to come to the crew’s aid. However, the crash survivors turn out to be criminals led by a former secret service agent who have stolen $100 million, which is packed into three suitcases lost on the mountaintop during the plane crash… Having established himself as an action director following the success of Die Hard 2, Finnish director Renny Harlin shot the film largely in the Dolomites and included some spectacular stunts.
